The Kingdom of Izendor

Izendor is the oldest modern kingdom in the realm of Tyrizah. Established in the mountainous Northern Wilds at the end of the Imperial Era (234 IE / 0 AIE), Izendor was an inspiration to all fractured mainland provinces that struggled to recover from the vise-grip of the Tethysian Empire. 

The first ruler of Izendor, King Vitaly, was selfless and kind - yet also a zealous and headstrong warrior famous for leading mainland forces against the Tethysian Draco Fleet in a battle called the Dawn of Thunder (234 IE). Blessed with the powers of thunder and flame by the titans Avyros and Aresh, Vitaly's ThunderFlame Dynasty has ruled Izendor from the day of its establishment. Most people refer to the hereditary magic as "electrokinesis," while Izendorans reverently call their rulers "Bearers of the ThunderFlame."

In the 400s AIE, a civil war erupted when three electrokinetic siblings and their supporters fought for the right to inherit the throne. The conflict was so violent and costly that when the second-born sibling came out on top, she passed a law banning herself and any of her descendants from having more than one child.

In more recent centuries, Izendor has become a warmongering kingdom infamous for testing boundaries with Dantoneia (now Meiro) to the west, Armavir to the south, and Ibadan to the southeast. As of 1404 AIE, Izendor is overtly hostile toward outsiders, though they haven't attacked their neighbors in nearly a century.
